NEW Profiles With Updated Norms for the
Self-Interpretation and
Comprehensive Career Guides

The Comprehensive Career Guides and Self-Interpretation Profile and Guides used with the COPS, CAPS and COPES assessments have been completely updated and revised and are now available. Profile sheets in these Guides are based on new normative data gathered from 1998-2002. The sample included 18,991 seventh through twelfth grade students and 1,898 college and community college students. Job titles listed in the Guides have been completely updated and now have O*NET codes. Occupations will continue to be cross-referenced to the most current Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) and the COPSystem Career Briefs Kit and Cluster Booklets Kit. New information regarding college majors related to each Career Cluster and skills and abilities needed for each Cluster has been added.

The Comprehensive Career Guide may be used to score two or more of the COPSystem self-scoring assessments and to plot and interpret a summary profile of the assessment results. There are separate Self-Interpretation Profile and Guides for the COPS, CAPS and COPES when a summary profile is not needed. There are also Guides for the Machine-Scoring Forms, which contain the identical information without scoring instructions. Each Guide also contains a “Using Your Scores in Career Planning Worksheet,” a “Program Planning Guide” for educational planning, and a “Local Job Interview Sheet.”
The Canadian versions of the Guides are now based on new norms as well, and the sample occupations and NOC numbers have been updated.
