Supplemental Material
Reality Land allows teachers to introduce practical knowledge and work skills into existing curriculum by providing practice in role-playing real life economic and work situations in the classroom. The Reality Land Teacher’s Guide is designed to be used from the early primary level through the eighth grade. You can adapt many of the ideas to fit the needs of your own students. Activities for the primary grades tend to be very concrete. For example, a kindergarten teacher can establish a rental system for toys and equipment used during recess. If you are teaching older students you may wish to create a sophisticated mini-city with its own businesses, government agency and currency system.
Survival Kits are four-page guides designed to assist teachers, guest speakers and field trip hosts in conducting successful presentations and field trips. Each Kit includes one of each: Guest Speaker’s Kit, Teacher’s Guest Speaker Kit, Host for School Field Trips Kit, Teacher's Field Trip Kit, and Chaperones Field Trip Kit.
The Handbook for Parents is a brief three-page guide to assist parents in reinforcing career awareness at home and is available in two formats, one for grades K-6 and the other for grades 7-12.
Career Education Tests are criterion referenced tests with multiple-choice questions designed to assess a students understanding of the CERES Guidance Goals. These tests are available by grade level from grades 2-12. An Instructor Key is included with purchase.
