COPSystem Online Beta-Testing: Free Materials!

We are ready to begin a new round of beta-testing for the web-based Career Occupational Preference System - The COPSystem Online.

Your participation will help us improve test administration by significantly decreasing the time required to assess individual examinees while preserving the validity and integrity of your results.

For research purposes only, we are seeking groups of participants who would be willing to complete both formats: the online, or computer-based test (CBT), and paper-and-pencil test (PPT), and a short questionnaire. These administrations may be conducted over the course of several days or weeks depending on your schedule.

Participants will be assigned to one of two grouping conditions that will determine the order of their tests (CBT followed by PPT, or PPT followed by CBT). Due to the convenience of the CBT format, participants will have the ability to complete the assessment independently within a pre-specified testing window, either from their personal computer, school library, or computer lab.

In order to track each participant's progress and organize their results, we will set-up individual online accounts for each examinee using an ID number assigned to them at the beginning of testing. To facilitate this stage of data collection, a representative from EdITS will be available in person to assist the testing supervisor and answer any questions that may arise.

As compensation for participating in this study, completed paper-and-pencil inventories will be scored and results will be provided for each participant to use as a personalized career planning tool. The data we obtain will be kept for EdITS research purposes only and all participant information will be confidential.
