This guide explains administrator features and functions within the EdITS Assessment Platform (EAP).
Administrators are users that have the ability to manage groups. Administrators are added to a group by accepting an email invitation. Once an administrator invitation has been accepted the administrator will be granted specific permissions within the group.
When you sign into the EAP, you will be taken to your dashboard. Your dashboard will display a list of groups which you administer. This list will display some basic information about the group, including the name, description, token, and your permission level within the group. Click on the “Manage” button in the Actions column to access the administrator functions of a group.
If you do not see a list of groups, or you see only a list of products, you are not an administrator. In order to become an administrator, you must accept an administrator invitation. For more information, see Administrator Permissions.
To access the administrator features of a group, select “Manage” from the Actions column in your Dashboard. This will take you to the group information page.

From the group information page, a menu will appear on the left hand side of the screen. This menu, shown below, displays a list of actions available to you as an administrator. Some menu items might be missing if you do not have full permissions in a group. See Administrator Permissions for more information.

Selecting Products from the menu will display a list of products in this group. This list only shows products not assigned to an examinee. These unassigned products are called available products. If you have full product permissions, you will have the following features available:
View allows you to see the available products products associated with this group. If you do not have this permission level, products will not be listed in your menu.
Auto assignment allows you to automatically assign a product to an examinee when the examinee joins the group. Auto assignment is set to “On” by default, but you can change it by selecting “On” or “Off” from the drop down menu. With auto assignment set to “Off”, product will have to be manually assigned to each examinee. If you do not have permission to assign products, the auto-assignment drop down will be hidden.
Transferring products allows you to transfer assessments to another group. Clicking on the “Transfer Products” link in the Actions column will allow you to specify an amount to transfer and the destination group receiving the products. You must have permission to transfer products in the destination group for it to appear in the list.
Selecting “Examinees” from the menu will display the list of examinees that belong to this group. For each examinee you will see Username, First and Last name and Email address, all of which can be filtered. There are four features available from the Actions column if you have full permissions:
Results displays the products available to the examinee. Selecting this option from the “Examinees” tab takes you to the “Results” page. There are five status options for a product.
If you have purchased a product with suppressed results you will have different options. For a complete explanation of suppression of results, see Products with Results Suppressed. When you select “Results” from the Examinee screen you may also “Enter the MSD” score for the Examinee.
Assign allows the administrator to assign products to the examinee, if the admin has this permission level, and if there are products available in the group.
Move allows the administrator with this permission level to move examinees from one group to another. The admin will need to be a member of both groups and have permission to transfer examinees in both groups in order to perform this function.
Reset Password feature sends a Reset Password email to the examinee. Please see the Examinee Management for Administrators page for more details.
Selecting “Results” from the menu displays a list of examinees with their Username, First and Last name, Product Name, and Status all of which can be filtered. There is also an Actions column which allows you to enter the CAPS MSD (Manual Speed and Dexterity) score. There are five status options for a product (as described above).
If you have purchased a product with suppressed results you will have different options.
Selecting the Administrator button from the menu will display the administrators that have joined this group. There are two features available if you have full permissions:
Edit allows you to edit the permission levels of other administrators. You can grant or revoke permissions by checking or unchecking the boxes, respectively. You will not be able to edit your own permissions. For a complete list of permission levels, see Administrator Permissions.
Remove allows you to remove administrators from this group. However, you cannot remove yourself.
Please remember that you cannot edit or remove yourself from a group. Please contact your supervisor or EdITS if you would like your permission levels changed or to be removed from a group.
Selecting Invite Examinees from the menu will allow the administrator to invite examinees to join the group. There are two features available if you have full permissions:
To send an examinee invitation(s), simply type a comma-separated list of the email addresses into the text box and press the Send button. See Examinee Management for Administrators for more details.
Once an invitation is sent, it appears in the Pending Invites area. Pending invites do not expire until they have been accepted or revoked. You may revoke an invitation at any time. Revoking an invitation does not remove the email from the recipient’s inbox, nor does it send a notification. However, if the recipient attempts to accept the revoked invitation, an error message is displayed.
Selecting the Invite Admins from the menu will allow the administrator to invite new administrators to join the group. There are two features available if you have full permissions:
To send an administrator invite, simply type a comma-separated list of the email addresses into the text box and press the Send button. Optionally, you can customize the permissions levels using the checkboxes below the text area. Remember that all invitations in the text area will receive the same permission level you selected. Selecting Copy from the menu allows the administrator to create a copy of the group. You can use this copy feature to organize your products and examinees. For example, you may have many different office sites or schools, and it would be helpful to have each in their own group.
When a group is copied, only administrators and their permissions are copied into the new group. This copy does not have any of the products or examinees from the source. You must manually transfer the products and/or examinees that you want to move into the copy.
Additionally this can be used to help you manage your testing sessions. For example, you may want to copy a group at the end of each semester. This will bring over the administrators from last semester but not the products or examinees. Alternatively, you may want to expand the number of groups as your program or business grows. The copy feature allows you to preserve your administrators, but gives you a clean examinee and product slate.
