Account Creation/Registration

Most examinees will be invited to create a sign-in by an administrator. You may be provided with a token that you enter after you have created a sign-in. This token will associate you with your administrator and will allow you access to products.

Taking Assessments

The time required to complete and score the each assessment varies:

  1. The Career Occupational Preference System Interest Inventory (COPS) and the COPS-Professional Level Interest Inventory (COPS-P) take about 30 minutes for most examinees to complete. Reading level and ability to focus on tasks for an extended period of time are the primary factors that determine how long it will take to finish. Please remember that you may return to the COPS or COPS-P at any time until all items are answered.
  2. The Career Ability Placement Survey (CAPS) is an ability battery that consists of eight 5-minute sections. Including reading the instructions for each test and actual testing time, it will take about an hour to complete this battery. Once you leave a section that has been started you will not be allowed to return to that section. However, you may stop between tests and return to the next one at any time. The last CAPS test is a paper/pencil Manual Speed and Dexterity test. It is presented as a downloadable PDF with test taking and scoring instructions. Once you complete this task you may enter your score to generate results.
  3. The Career Orientation Placement and Evaluation Survey (COPES) takes about 30 minutes. Reading level and ability to focus for an extended period of time will determine whether it takes longer to finish this assessment. You may return to the COPES at any time until all items are answered.

If you have technical questions about the COPSystem assessments please contact our technical support staff at support@edits.net or (800) 416-1666.

Viewing Assessment Results

Please keep in mind that it is only possible to view the results for finished and scored assessments. To complete the COPS and/or the COPES, you must answer every question and navigate to the end of the inventory. You may verify that you have completed a specific assessment by signing in to your examinee account.
